Maintenance & Care Tips
Installation & Positioning
- Disconnect printer power before installation and secure the USB cable away from moving parts.
- On the Kobra 3 / Kobra 3 Max series, always plug the camera into the designated left USB port for full hardware recognition by Kobra OS.
- Focusing & Alignment: Ensure the wide 113° angle covers the full expanse of the print bed - especially important on larger build plates like the Kobra 3 Max 420 x 420 mm.
Lens & Housing Care
- Keep Lens Free of Micro-Dust: 3D printing creates airborne micro-particles. Wipe the glass lens periodically using a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh alcohol solutions or abrasive materials that could smudge or strip optical coatings.
- Prevent Overheating: Keep the camera cable routed away from hot components such as the heated bed matrix and printhead heater block.
Software & Connection Optimization
- Firmware Updates: Ensure your Kobra 3 / Kobra 3 Max mainboard firmware is kept up to date to maintain stable live stream frame rates and smooth time-lapse compilation.
- Wi-Fi Stability: Live video viewing relies on a stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection to your router. If video lags, position the printer closer to your access point or check local network bandwidth.
