Technical Specifications
- Printer Compatibility: Anycubic Kobra S1 Max / S1 Max Combo
- Nozzle Aperture: 0.25 mm
- Nozzle Material: Hardened Steel
- Throat Tube Material: Titanium Alloy
- Max Hotend Temperature: Up to 350°C
- Supported Filaments: PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PA, PC, PLA-CF, PETG-CF, PA-CF, PC-CF/GF, PET-CF, TPU
- Mounting System: Tool-Free Clip Quick-Release Latch. Important Note on TPU: Flexible filaments like TPU 95A are supported by the hotend, but high backpressure through a 0.25mm nozzle requires slower extrusion speeds. Note that flexible materials should be fed directly rather than through automatic multi-material systems like the ACE 2 Pro.
Maintenance & Care Tips
Quick Swap Installation Steps
- Unload & Cool Down: Retract filament completely and ensure the hotend is cooled down to room temperature before turning off the power.
- Remove Cover & Sock: Take off the printhead front cover and peel off the insulating silicone sock.
- Release Clamp: Pry open the quick-release clips that secure the nozzle assembly to the heatsink base and pull out the old nozzle module.
- Insert & Secure: Insert the 0.25mm module into the heatsink base, ensuring there is no gap between the hotend and the heat dissipation plate, then lock the retention clips firmly down. Put the silicone sock and front cover back in place.
Slicer Calibration & Flow Tuning
- Lower Volumetric Flow Limit: A 0.25mm hole significantly restricts volumetric extrusion capacity compared to a standard 0.4mm nozzle. In Anycubic Slicer / OrcaSlicer, drop maximum volumetric speed to prevent extruder gear grinding or motor skipping.
- Layer Height Boundaries: Recommended layer heights for a 0.25mm nozzle range between 0.05 mm and 0.16 mm (never exceed 80% of nozzle diameter).
- Thermal Compensation: Hardened steel conducts heat slightly slower than brass. If extruding rapidly, you may need to increase print temperature by 5°C to 10°C relative to standard brass settings.
Clog Prevention & Cleaning
- Thorough Filament Purging: When switching from high-temp engineering filaments (e.g., PA-CF or PC at ~300°C) down to standard filaments like PLA (~200°C), flush out residual filament at the higher material's temperature first to avoid trapping unmelted high-temp resin in the 0.25mm nozzle bore.
- Cleaning Needles: Only use cleaning wire/needles sized 0.20 mm or smaller. Never force a 0.3mm or 0.4mm needle into a 0.25mm hole.
- Cold Pull (Atomic Cleaning): Perform a cold pull using Nylon or dedicated cleaning filament if experiencing flow inconsistency. Heat to ~240°C, let cool to ~90°C, then pull firmly out to grab residual debris from inside the nozzle chamber.
